British Orthodontic Society
The Faculty were approached by the British Orthodontic Society (BOS) in 2009 to work in partnership with them to deliver a new virtual learning environment (VLE) to host BOS’s teaching programmes and to provide eLearning expertise to develop and enhance their current portfolio of online provision and programmes.

The VLE was successfully launched early in January 2010 and currently hosts the following programmes and development initiatives:
- National Orthodontic Programme (NOP) - devised to develop a modular learning resource for postgraduates in orthodontics. The resource has been developed by all UK dental schools as authors or co-authors.
- FTTA Programme – based on the NOP programme this programme has been expanded to include a further 5 online modules for FTTAs in Orthodontics. The resource has been developed by all UK dental schools as authors or co-authors.
- DwSI – (Dentists with special interests) The DwSIs / Enhanced Practitioners are recognized as an important part of the overall delivery of orthodontic care in the United Kingdom. This resource aims to maximise the use of Trainers' and Trainees' academic time.
Module authors section – a platform to facilitate the ongoing development of existing and new programme content.
