Health Informatics and Health Information Governance

It is possible for students to apply to study courses on a stand-alone basis. If a student should subsequently apply for the programme it is possible to count a maximum of 60 credits towards any subsequent award attained assuming you meet the entry criteria. Credit accumulated will be assigned a period of validity. In most cases the longevity of credit obtained will be 5 years. To study courses in this way, potential applicants should complete an application form and indicate on the form that they wish to study via the intermittent study route. The “In Practice” courses, 4 and 5 are not available for CPD unless studied in conjunction with another course.

If you have any questions about these CPD courses you should contact Ashley Stevenson fhi-edin@rcsed.ac.uk in the first instance.

Individual Modules from the DipRom programme

If you don’t wish to complete the whole Diploma or you don’t meet the work experience entry criteria it is possible to study individual modules as CPD. It is essential that you have a relevant health professional qualification as this is assumed in the study material.

You will be studying alongside Diploma students and undertake the same work and assessments.

It is strongly recommended that you start with Module 1 as this provides an overview of Remote and Offshore Medicine.

If you are interested in modules for CPD you should contact Julie Melville j.melville@rcsed.ac.uk in the first instance.
