Changes to Health Informatics and Health Information Governance Programmes

As from September 2010 all students who apply for our online distance learning programmes in Health Information Governance and Health Informatics (run in partnership with Edinburgh University) will now join a new merged programme which involves studying four Health Informatics courses in year one before going on to either specialise in Health Informatics or Health Information Governance in the Diploma year. Students who wish to continue onto the MSc level of the programme can obtain a degree in either Health Informatics or Health Information Governance.

Diploma in Remote and Offshore Medicine - Online Applications Live for September 2010 intake

Applications for the September 2010 intake of the Diploma in remote and Offshore Medicine(DipROM) programme are now being accepted.  The closing date for all applications is Monday 16 August 2010, with the programme launching on Monday 13 September 2010.

Launch of new CPD Modules in Remote and Offshore Medicine

March 2010 saw the first launch of our new CPD module: Health and Wellbeing of the Remote Worker. The module contains 100 CPD hours of online study at a cost of £350 and runs until June. Students who take module 1 also get FREE access to the Induction Module which helps students learn to use the virtual learning environment. As an added bonus all CPD students study alongside our Diploma students so will gain valuable insights from those working in the field which may prove to be invaluable for those wishing to gain entry in to the world of remote and offshore medicine.

We will be running this module again in September to sign up for the next intake all applications must be submitted by 16 August.

Relaunch of FHI Website

FHI re-launched its website on 26 April. Now completely overhauled it provides a student focused platform to promote FHI programmes and activities. With 54 web pages in total its packed with useful information for students and potential students alike.  New sections include a Student Info Zone which has podcasts and testimonials from existing students as well as welcome messages from the Faculty and admin teams.  There is also a new Tutor section which profiles some of the programme tutors as well as an expanded CPD section which incorporates the full range of CPD options offered by the Faculty, from postgraduate level taught modules to short stand alone modules.
