Short CPD Modules in Healthcare Informatics
We offer a CPD Programme in Healthcare Informatics. This is a modular programme with content delivered via the Internet to open up access to all working in healthcare and is aligned with the needs of modern healthcare professional who seek to improve their knowledge and understanding of this important area.
The Aim
The aim of this course is to provide healthcare professionals with quality training in order to achieve the nationally and internationally described competencies in health informatics.
Course Objectives
Students taking this course will be able to: discuss with confidence the current issues in informatics, relate the principles of informatics to their daily work and explain to their colleagues the importance of quality in information management.

All assessment is through our automated online system which allows students the flexibility to study at their own pace and in their own time. Each module lasts an average of 20 hours, and once started must be completed within 6 months.
Our learning management system enables us to offer a wide range of modules, which may be customised to the needs of specific users, cultures, countries and languages. We can develop additional modules on request.
Registration
Students register for each module as they wish to take it. The registration process includes online payment by credit/debit card, after which the module will be immediately available for study. (Alternatively, we can invoice organisations whose employees wish to take modules; please contact us about this.) Fees
Each module is paid for in advance at the time of registration on the module. Payment will be accepted online through standard credit and debit cards, or invoicing is possible. Access to the module is granted automatically on acceptance of the payment. Modules may be taken in any order and are self-standing.
Standard Module Fee £100
Fourth to fifth modules £80
Subsequent modules £60

Students have access to a range of support options including:

What qualification will I get?
Students who complete a module successfully will be awarded a certificate for that module. Each module is worth 20 CPD credits.
Will there be face-to-face teaching?
We will offer parallel face-to-face teaching sessions for an additional fee where there are sufficient student numbers. These will typically concentrate on a group of 2-3 modules and will be delivered over a single day. Students will be expected to have completed the online component and will be attending the day courses for additional teaching.
Can I transfer credit to the MSc course?
At this time, credit may not be transferred.
